Plant and turnaround lifts in Victoria, TX
Maintenance picks and turnaround lifts at petrochemical and industrial sites, quoted by independent local operators. Send the equipment, the unit and the site rules you know of.

Why turnaround lifts need early booking
A turnaround is a planned shutdown of a plant or a unit for inspection, maintenance and repair. Many crews and cranes work on the same site in a fixed window, so the good machines and riggers go first.
What a turnaround brings
- Several cranes and rigging crews on one site at once
- Lift plans for each heavy pick, reviewed before the crane moves
- Tight schedules, where a missed day can hold up other trades
What the plant decides
- Who may enter, and how: gate sign-in, passes, safety training
- Which permits the work needs before the crane is set up
- Whether a written lift plan is required, and who signs it
- Where cranes may stand, including pads, roads and pipe racks
What to send us
- The equipment, its weight and where it comes from and goes to
- The dates, and whether they are fixed by a turnaround window
- Anything the plant has told you about access, training and permits
- Whether you need riggers, a signal person or both
Plants on this coast
Industrial work around Victoria is concentrated on Lavaca Bay and the Gulf. Names below are local geography; this site has no relationship with any plant.
Point Comfort and Lavaca Bay
The Formosa Plastics complex sits at Point Comfort on Lavaca Bay. It is served by the Port of Port Lavaca–Point Comfort (Calhoun Port Authority). Large plants of this kind schedule turnarounds, and the S&P Global news service reported a cracker restart after one at the Point Comfort complex in 2021.
Ask the plant first
Every site has its own rules for contractors. We cannot tell you what a particular plant requires. Ask its contractor-safety or maintenance contact, then pass what you learn to the operator so the quote fits.

Typical plant picks
Most plant lifts are not tall buildings. They are heavy, awkward pieces moved in a tight space.
Rules that apply
Not legal advice: a short map of what buyers ask about. The operator and the plant have the final word.
Operator certification
OSHA's construction crane rule, 29 CFR 1926.1427, covers operator training, certification or qualification for most cranes over 2,000 lb rated capacity. It does not replace state or local licensing.
Ask each company about its operators' certifications. OSHA crane FAQ
Power lines
OSHA sets specific requirements for crane work near energized power lines (29 CFR 1926.1408). Note any line near the pad or the swing path in your request.
The plant's own rules
Entry, safety training, permits and lift plans are set by the plant, and they differ between sites. Tell the operator what the plant has told you.
Plant and turnaround questions
Lift planDo I need a written lift plan?
Heavy or critical lifts often have one, and many plants require it. Whether yours does is the plant's call. The operator or the plant's lift engineer prepares it from the weight, radius and ground; send those numbers early.
RiggersWho supplies the riggers?
It varies. Some operators send riggers with the crane, others quote rigging separately, and some plants require their own contractor's riggers. Say what you have, and see rigging and signal person.
Long jobsCan a crane stay on site for weeks?
Yes, many turnaround jobs run for weeks. Long jobs are often quoted differently from a one-day pick. Give the full window in your request, and ask how standby days and weather are handled.
Pipe racksCan a crane lift over a pipe rack?
Sometimes. It depends on the plant's rules, the crane's reach, what is underneath and whether the unit is live. The plant decides; ask it first and tell the operator the answer.
Plant passDo the crane crew need a plant pass?
Usually the plant controls entry, and that can include safety orientation and badges for everyone on site. We cannot tell you what a given plant requires; ask the plant and allow time for it.
BookingHow early should I book for a turnaround?
As early as your schedule allows. During turnarounds many cranes and crews in the region are tied up at once, and we cannot promise availability. Start the request when the dates are known.
Request a plant lift
Four short steps, about two minutes. "Plant or turnaround lift" is already selected; put plant rules in the notes.
We pass your request to independent local operators who quote you directly. We are a quote-request service, not a crane company.
